Area 3 · Support & Development
This is the practical support. Workshops, mentorship, a study trip and concrete tools for anyone running a music business or looking to take the next step as an artist or creator.
We focus on people who have an idea or a small company and want to grow – but maybe lack the structure, the contacts or the knowledge to get there. Everything is free and built around what the industry actually needs.
Activities
Shorter training sessions in areas like sales, digital communication, sustainability and gender equality. We start from what you and your business actually need – not a one-size-fits-all course.
You also get the chance to exchange experiences with others in the industry – both newcomers and more established people – and build connections that can open doors internationally.
Do you have an idea you want to test but aren't sure if it will hold up? This workshop series is for artists and creators who want to develop their work more strategically.
Using LEAN methodology, you get practical tools to test, adjust and develop your ideas quickly – before putting too much time, money or energy into them. The focus is on doing, not just planning.
Want to take your music out into the world? As part of the project, we organise a study trip to one of Europe's leading music events. You'll meet people who have already built strong connections between culture and business.
On the trip you join selected activities, networking sessions and conversations with international industry professionals. The focus is on real examples – how other artists, creators and companies have built sustainable business models and reached global audiences.
Want to go from creative idea to a sustainable long-term career? In 2028 we launch a mentorship programme where artists and music entrepreneurs are matched with experienced industry professionals.
The programme is designed for people in the step between a small solo operation and a more established business, with focus on business development, IP rights, going international and entrepreneurship.
Twice a year, we bring together music industry people, researchers, tech developers and cultural organisations to talk about what's actually relevant right now. Six sessions in total across the project.
The topics: AI and copyright, what digitalisation is doing to the industry, sustainable ways to earn from music, and how to build more inclusive spaces. Everything we figure out is shared openly – in reports, seminars and events.
Many people in the music industry have similar needs but struggle separately. We're building a practical model for how smaller companies and artists can share studios, tech platforms, legal advice and marketing tools.
It's tested in practice, refined, then shared freely under a Creative Commons licence – so others can use it too, even after the project ends.
